A Foolproof Way for Pundits & Politicians To Avoid Controversy
Jon Stewart has been speaking out against inflammatory partisan rhetoric a lot lately, including on last night’s The Rachel Maddow Show. Interesting. I thought I was enjoying hilarious inflammatory partisan rhetoric on his show all these years. I guess I misunderstood all those nightly relentless attacks on George W. Bush and Fox News. Well, regardless of how you classify it, it’s brilliant comedy.
Trouble is Brewer-ing
The Full Ginsburg presents this look at what was happening behind the scenes during Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer‘s meltdown at the gubernatorial debate. The last time somebody choked this bad, they had an entire footlong sub in their throat. (The Full Ginsburg is Eric Cunningham, Brendan Collins, Marc Georges, Mike Winton, Zara Findlay-Shirras, Jared Bloom and Claudia Castillo).
Barry’s Parries
As one of the funniest comics of his generation, you’ve seen Todd Barry over the past decade on everything from standup comedy specials to The Wrestler (Mickey Rourke’s boss) to FX’s Louie. But if you haven’t seen him live (recently), you might as well spit in the face of good comedy itself. Or, in lieu of that, watch Todd in this clip from The Late Show with David Letterman and then come out on Weds. Sep. 1st (9:30) to see him at Carolines on the next SmackDown: The Best of ComedySmack alongside host Giulia Rozzi, Jon Friedman, Christian Finnegan, Jamie Lee, Lance Weiss, Kira Soltanovich and videos by political comedy provocateurs The Full Ginsburg. (To make reservations call Carolines at 212-757-4100 and use code word “SMACK” for $5 cover).

Palinception
A Palin ’12 campaign could spell the end of Obama’s presidency. Or is that just what they want you to think? (Or is that just what they want you to think they want you to think?)
School of Hard Crocks
Glenn Beck recently announced that he would be launching his very own institution of higher learning. The great thing is, if you have a computer, you’re already on campus! Political comedy outfit The Full Ginsburg unveils the first commecial for the surely soon-to-be Ivy League “Glenn Beck University.” Let the learning commence!
