TURN ME UP, TURN ME DOWN

Live Comedy: The Rejection Show hosted by Jon Friedman

Oddly enough, some people seem more interested in failure than success (just look at the press coverage Hillary’s getting). Comedian Jon Friedman’s brainchild, The Rejection Show, embraces the rejected or “turned down” material of well-known writers, comics, cartoonists and other creative types, who share their “failures” with a sympathetic audience. Here’s one of JF’s video shorts that serve as “between the flops” interstitials. (The Rejection Show @ Comix, tonight, 6/11, 8PM, with guests College Humor, Pete Holmes, Jenny Slate, Greg Johnson & Larry Murphy and more. Advance tix: $15. Day of show: $17. No minimum).

STAY THE COURSE

Web Video: Swing ‘em Home with Jon Glaser and Jon Benjamin (from 23/6.com)

Former Late Night with Conan O’Brien writer/performer Jon Glaser teams with former slacker son of Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist (the always funny Jon Benjamin) for this edgy piece of political satire about bringing the troops home through decidedly unconventional means. Hitting the links to support the enlisted men? Hey, makes about as much sense as combating terrorism by shopping.
