It’s that time of year again! Late September/early October! Here are some good comedy shows and videos to celebrate this super festive time of year!

LASERS IN THE JUNGLE

Although its name sounds like the title for a film in the “Tron Vs. Predator” franchise, it’s actually much, much cooler. Lasers in the Jungle is a weekly standup show every Saturday night at Luca Lounge in the East Village hosted by funny persons Sean Crespo and Dan Wilbur and produced by Carol Hartsell.

STINSON’S AWESOME MOVIE NIGHT

America’s best movies are screened every month with live commentary by fanboy/critic Stinson (Rob Lathan) and a panel of experts. This week’s panel includes: James Adomian, Arden Myrin, and John Gemberling. Rob Lathan is an NYC-based improviser and comic who, when he isn’t busy dorking out as Stinson, appears on shows like Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Colbert Report. Reserve tickets here.

BROOKLYN VS. QUEENS: A COMEDY THROWDOWN

Comedians Liz Simons, Selena Coppock, and Sue Funke present a show at Gleason’s Gym in DUMBO, “Brooklyn vs. Queens: A Comedy Throwdown.” Similar standup comedians from either borough perform back-to-back in a major showdown. The match ups include: Brooklyn Gay vs. Queens Gay, Native Brooklyn vs. Native Queens, Blonde Brooklyn vs. Blonde Queens and, of course the girl comic-on-girl comic action of Brooklyn Chick vs. Queens Chick. Borough pride is on the line!

TOO SOON

With her new monthly at the PIT, comedienne Laura Prangley has put together a late night variety show so good you’ll forget how bad Carlos Mencia’s was. Each show features Social Hero, a killer local band (FX’s “Louie” theme song), along with two storytellers, two standups, a rapper (Carolyn Castiglia) and a game. Next show is Oct. 1st and features Giulia Rozzi, Hari Kondabolu and Nick Vatterott.
