Standup Clip: George Carlin on Language
George Carlin enjoyed a lifelong love affair with words. A 1972 arrest for violating obscenity laws and a 1978 Supreme Court ruling (regarding an infamous radio broadcast) forever identified him with his controversial “Seven Words” routine. In this clip from a 1990 HBO special, George attacks (sorry…”takes issue with”) the language of political correctness.
