TV SHOW CLIP: LETTERMAN’S “NEW HALLOWEEN COSTUMES”

Halloween= 8 1/2 minutes of successfully filled air time for the writers of David Letterman’s “Late Show,” where the yearly “New Halloween Costumes” feature continues to bring out the best in LS’ crack staff — while providing Dave with a welcome contrast to the visitors who showed up at his door back in the ’80′s. Highlights from this 2006 show include a cheerful tot dressed as a chunk of glow-in-the-dark uranium and a prepubescent Howie Mandel impersonator with more apparent talent than the real item. ComedySmack predictions for the 2007 edition (airing tonight on CBS): The diapered astronaut? Gay Dumbledore? Iggy DeGeneres?
